We are a Christian family owned & operated business. We started our first business in the SDSU area at the young age of 19. It was a college based retail store. When God blessed us with our first child in 1998, we realized that a "Baby Resale store" may be a more appropriate business to be in with our growing family. We purchased Picket Fences Resale shop in Lemon Grove. After our second child was born we purchased Lil' Britches Resale shop on Waring road in SD. With our third child on the way we purchased Conceptions Children's Resale in Santee. Soon after giving birth to our third child we realized that maybe 3 children & 3 locations was a bit much to handle :-) We decided to sell our original location (Picket Fences). After having more time to focus on 2 shops our business in Santee really took off! We had expanded the size & had a difficult time keeping that location stocked. We decided to sell Lil' Britches & put all our energy in to Conceptions. We had been friends and done business with the owners of The Baby Exchange for several years, so when the owners told us they were ready to retire we decided it was the next logical step to purchase The Baby Exchange as it was S.D's largest & busiest Children's Resale store. This time we were expecting our 4th child. With the impossibility of running 2 large stores & having our 4th child we decided to sell Conceptions to our friend & loyal employee. Today we still trade & network between the 2 stores. Now, in 2012 we have time to focus on our ministry. Both myself & husband are Jr. High leaders at Foothills Community Church, which has been both a wonderful opportunity & a blessing in our lives! My husband has been volunteering for 8 years, this has been my first year & I have been thrilled to work with the youth! It has been quite a journey with our resale shop ventures but we wouldn't trade it for the world! We have met the most wonderful & carrying people and have had the chance to share the gospel & good news with many customers :-) We are looking forward to many more years to come at The Baby Exchange & meeting you & your little ones!!
